I've decided to go friends only from now on. I write mostly about the trials and tribulations of my life and (more interesting I'm sure) fandom. It's nothing too exciting or important but I'd like to know who's reading. I love meeting and talking with new people, so feel free to friend me and please comment here to be added because I probably won't notice otherwise.

<lj-embed id="4" /><lj-embed id="5" /><lj-embed id="6" /><lj-embed id="7" />

Snow!

I love snow. Actually I love how snow looks before people are out driving on it and walking on it and messing it up. The thing I love about snow the most however is the way it sounds when you step in it. That sort of crunch sound that is unmistakably "stepping in snow". So, tonight when I was going out to clean off my car so that I could get to work, and I stepped out the door of my flat and heard that sound, I was all happy. It also made me think of Rose stepping out of the TARDIS into the snow at the beginning of 'The Unquiet Dead' and how you can hear that sound. Which is another reason that I love Doctor Who (How'd I get from snow to Doctor Who you ask? Everything can relate back to my fandom of choice. It's like magic.). There's just so much attention to detail and I love it and (spoiler) Rose is coming back!!!

And that's why I love snow.

They also took my laptop with them to some place in St. Louis that Toshiba referred me to.

My dad took it in the other day. The bloke at the shop said it sounded like the motherboard had gone. This, it is not good. I just hope that it can be fixed and/or replaced in a Very Timely Manner. Like now-ish. I got an evil grin and said, "The last time I went skating, I was in France." And then I was happy cos it happened and sad cos it was over. The trip, not the skating.
So I finally plucked up enough courage to call AT&T's tech support to get my WiFi going and despite the fact that the guy (Chris - and he sounded hot) probably thought I was a complete idiot, I'm now wireless! It's exciting. If you're me at least.

I'm nearly finished with this fantastically funny book called Notes from a Small Island by Bill Bryson and I'm trying to decide what to read next. Now, a long time ago, I had a list of all these books that I wanted to read, but in the chaos of moving not less than 4 times, I seem to have misplaced said list. So I guess I'll have to start a new one. And hope that I can remember what was on the last one.

I think I want to start with either The Dark is Rising or the His Dark Materials series, but as I don't have these books and am fairly low on cash at the moment, it will probably come down to what I can find at the library. Hopefully with the film adaptations coming out, the books will be fairly easy to come by.

Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions for what should be on my "To Read" list, please, don't be shy.
